Special Operations:

October 11 -12, 1966, Le Son (5) County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 102 villagers.

November 16 -19, 1966, Bich Bac County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 102 villagers. Catholic mass was held in the hamlet church for the first time in over two years. The village elders requested better security for their village.

December 28 - 29, 1966, Le Son (3) County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 160 villagers and another 20 received dental treatment.

January 13 - 14, 1967, Xuan Diem County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 217 villagers and another 75 received dental treatment. There were three civilians detained for interrogation. There were two USMC wounded. Village elders were critical of Marines and ARVN blowing up family protective bunkers during search for snipers and weapons.

January 25 - 27, 1967, Chau Son County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 423 villagers and another 63 received dental treatment.

February 3 - 5, 1967, Duc Ky (2) County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 300 villagers and another 42 received dental treatment. Village is influenced by nearby VC cadre.

February 16 - 18, 1967, Bich Bac County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 125 villagers and another 12 received dental treatment. Robert Komer, advisor to President Johnson concerning civilian pacification efforts, visited the County Fair on February 16th.

February 22 - 24, 1967, Bich Nam (1) County Fair is conducted. The MEDCAP team treated 271 villagers and another 22 received dental treatment. Village is influenced by nearby VC cadre and numerous tunnels were discovered. Three VC were killed inside the cordon with two friendly WIA.

April 6 -15, 1967, Operation Golden Fleece was conducted with 2,946 Vietnamese screened. The Golden Fleece actions resulted in nine VC KIA and 10 VC WIA. Friendly casualties were three KIA.

April 25 - 28, 1967, Cam Van County Fair was conducted with 529 Vietnamese screened. There were seven VC KIA and five PW with no friendly casualties.
